Settle Portal Tour
TICKETS

The walk sets off at around 10.30am (meet up at 10.00am)at the Town Hall Clock in the main market place. Signs will be put up and I will be there early. The first part of the walk in the morning is only a short distance away from the town to the Sun Dial Portal, taking in the Folly, Freemasons Lodge on the way. The views from the portal area are stunning, and we will be staying thereabouts until lunch time around 12.30 to give you time to conduct any experiments there or join in with rasing the energies of the site with Helen and myself. The stop will include a concise narration by myself of how the portal was discovered and what we have found there. Bring your cameras! Then on to a Break in the town for anyone who want to get snacks, food, drinks, toilet, shops etc., and re-meet up again at the Town Hall, at 1.30pm to walk to Giggleswick Chapel which is only about a mile, stopping en-route at places of interest including the site of a Town Head -where a Giant was secreted found in a cave close to the portal, a hidden ancient standing stone, Langcliffe Hall /Sir Isaac Newton connection to the portal. We will gain special enrty to the Chapel which has outstanding architecture and hidden symbolism on par with Roslyn Chapel. Nigel will give a talk here about how the Chapel site connects with the rest of the portal mystery and why. The walk ends at 5.30pm, but you can break off and leave early at any point if need to -I'll supply an easy to follow map if anyone wants to make their way back on their own before the walk ends-you cannot get lost as the route is straightforward. Some people are coming who want to stay over but this is optional. We are going to the Indian Resturant in Settle at 7.30pm (prices are very good and the food is excellent) and then a skywatch later at around 9.30pm onwards.... The meal is not included in the ticket price and the skywatch is free of course. If you decide to stay later than the walk, please make sleeping arrangements, although for those used to it, the skywatch will probably go on for most of the night! Looking forwards to seeing you all there.
